We had such a wonderful week staying with Kees and Britt. Britt was away with her daughter, but Kees took excellent care of us. He’s very friendly and easygoing, and he responds super fast. Kees knows the area well and had lots of great tips for us. The cottage is a lovely place. There were three of us, but it could easily have accommodated four. The weather was fantastic, so we spent a lot of time outside, by the pool and under the covered area next to the cottage. The cottage was clean, and there was a generous supply of towels. The beds were great. This is an excellent base for a week of hiking or biking. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. On some days, we didn’t see a single soul on our walks for five hours straight. It’s handy to have a car for grocery shopping. There’s a small supermarket in Yunquera, but in Alozaina there’s a slightly larger one where you can find everything you need for a delicious dinner. In short, we’d love to come back again.

An absolutely incredible place with the most amazing hosts! I don’t even know where to start. The cabin’s location was absolutely perfect for our hiking vacation. Nestled on the side of the hills in the National Park, it offered the most sensational views of the valleys. It was the perfect distance from so many hiking trails of varying difficulty levels. We didn’t use a car, and the place is a stunning 25–30-minute walk from the village of Yunquera, where there was a supermarket, bars, and restaurants, as well as a reliable bus that went to the incredible town of Ronda and to Málaga for the airport. The pool was perfect; the cabin was exactly as described. Britt and Kees were the most incredible hosts, answering all of our questions, welcoming us with warmth, and even coming to rescue us when we got caught in a very unexpected thunderstorm up in the national park! Words cannot describe how perfect this place is if you’re looking for a secluded stay, hiking, and adventures

A charming house in a beautiful valley. Quiet, rural, and peaceful, with a lovely garden. A warm welcome and quick responses to questions during our stay. The floors were a bit cold, but we only have ourselves to blame for going to Spain in January 🙂 A perfect base if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay close to many nice places to visit. We’d love to come back

Britt and Kees are a great combination of warm and professional hosts. They respond quickly and personally; adjusting our arrival and departure times was no problem at all. The Cabana was in excellent condition and clean, with plenty of space, comfortable beds, and plenty of outdoor seating areas and a pool. There’s plenty to do in the area, though you’ll need a car. A beautiful and pleasant spot in a natural setting, perfect for both short and long stays.

We were truly enchanted by our stay at La Cabaña with Brigit and Kees. The place radiates a unique vibe of peace and harmony with nature. The buildings are beautifully integrated into the olive grove and surrounded by other fruit trees, blending perfectly with the landscape. The cabana itself offers a feeling of simplicity that invites you to slow down, connect, and truly soak in the beauty of this magical place. It's the perfect spot to rest, recharge, and be inspired. It's clear to see Brigit and Kees' passion for nature, their deep respect for the environment, and their genuine connection with the elements and the people around them. This will undoubtedly remain among the very best memories of our travels. If we ever return to Spain, we will certainly come back here without hesitation! We HiGHLY recommend!!!

We stayed in the cabana from May 8 to 17. A wonderful place. The cabana is very well cared for, Kees and Britt are pleasant hosts. At any time of the day there was a pleasant place to sit in the garden. We especially enjoyed walks in nature and some places in the area. At La Pura Vida we immediately felt at ease and enjoyed the peace and quiet. Thanks again!

For us, the ultimate vacation experience is: plenty of peace and quiet, few people around, reading books, a good walk, lots of beautiful views, and wonderful (ancient) culture. We’ve been completely satisfied during our past two weeks at La Cabaña. All our wishes have been fulfilled. We’ve completely unwound and are heading home stress-free! It’s a great feeling. Britt & Kees: thank you for taking such good care of us these past two weeks, and who knows—maybe we’ll see you again!

What a wonderful place to unwind! From March 29 to April 5, 2025 we stayed in the cozy Cabaña at La Pura Vida Yunquera of Kees and Britt. What a warm welcome! Kees and Britt are incredibly involved, think with you and make you feel right at home. The surroundings are beautiful and perfect for those who love hiking and cycling. The sunny Spanish south coast is only an hour away, and also pearls such as Ronda and the impressive Caminito del Rey are easily accessible by car. In short: an ideal base for the challenging cycling and hiking enthusiast and other culture vultures. Thanks for the hospitality, the nice atmosphere and all the good care. We would love to come back!

Youssef & Valerie (Belgium)

In late May to early June we had an excellent stay with this Dutch couple Kees and Britt. We stayed in the Casita. A fine lodge for two persons. Cosy and comfortably furnished. It was our first vacation. Because of the nice weather we made many trips. You definitely need a car. The swimming pool under the olive trees brought coolness. We were showered with tips by Britt and Kees. A special sideline in the village turned out to be Liam and Juan's restaurant Carpe Diem. Star-worthy menu. Definitely worth a visit.

La Pura Vida has taught me to really live. Waking up every morning to the peace, chirping. Watching nature wake up, hearing the rooster crow. Seeing the sun slowly take on a different glow and then the smell ... uncatchable. Sitting in front of the cabin and immersing myself in it did my recovery good. Then not forgetting the pool with the beautiful view of the mountains before the sun disappears behind the mountains. A wonderful place to walk to discover the beautiful surroundings. To the right you come to a little church (where the key is just in the door). To the left beautiful views of Yunquera. Walking to the village to have a drink among the locals. The road to and Ronda itself: indescribably beautiful. The landscapes are so diverse that you are constantly surprised. Also make sure you sometimes miss a turnoff... this puts you on roads/paths you don't know and like life brings you unexpected things that make life more pure. Each time I was surprised by the oasis of peace and was happy to come back home to La Pura Vida Yunquera. Thanks to Kees&Britt for creating this: a pearl in the Sierra de las Nieves.

"La Pura Vida" The feeling we had upon seeing the brochure (received through Kees at RTV de Bollenstreek) was surpassed. The beautiful location, the cabaña with pool and bbq area, the tree/flower/bird garden, the peace and privacy along with the fantastic surroundings, a Valhalla for cycling and walking = the pure good life! Britt and Kees thanks for your hospitality! PS: thanks to the help of the always friendly local bdpopulation we were spared kilometers of walking with the bike!

From the first moment I entered La Pura Vida, I felt very welcome and at home. I had the good fortune to stay at La Casita for five full weeks. Partly to work online (good WIFI!) and partly to enjoy the peace, the surroundings and the sun. It became an unforgettable success! Mainly because of the beautiful walks in the Sierra de las Nieves, the hospitality and humor of Kees &Britt, the good tips about visiting the Caminito del Rey, Málaga, Ronda and Estepona, the challenging MTB tour guided by Kees, the village festivals and so on. It tastes like more so see you next year!
