A day of outdoor play

KC job

Always hard work here? Oh well, sometimes it's not so bad. Sometimes it's like a day at the playground. Romping around outside, digging holes, playing with sand, stacking stone walls, messing about with buckets of water. Getting dirty is allowed.

In between, of course, picnicking in the sunshine. Sourdough bread with brie, honey and walnut from our own garden, something to drink and cookies for dessert. After half an hour of rest we went back to the playground.

Now with shovel and rake at work and soon the highlight. Kees lets me drive the desbrozadora! Pour in the 2-stroke fuel, pump 6 times, shake and then pull the cord vigorously a few times. The brushcutter comes to life, with a lot of noise as a result, but after all, I am wearing earplugs. In the campo they are used to this kind of noise.

I feel like a sixteen-year-old who has just started his first moped. Not idling, but steadily accelerating, heng heng... And then, like a mad lust, attacking all the high greenery. It really improves, the garden and your general condition.

It is a bit warm with protective clothing, shoes and goggles, but that makes it an ideal work out!

As icing on the cake, later today I'm going to light a fire for the garden waste that can't go to the landfill, I'm looking forward to it already!

My companion, meanwhile, is tinkering with cement, emptying a wheelbarrow into the pit and creating a new tub of slurry. Then hammering to remove the sagging garden fence and chopping up olive branches for the winter. No gym needed.

The only thing missing is fries tonight, because there are no snack bars to be found in the wide open area. The only option is to get into the kitchen and whip up something. Okay, accompanied by a delicious Ginto on the side.

Forward again, get to work!
